Miramar's houses fill the mainly flat central basin of the peninsula, on land that was once a large lagoon drained by Coutts Crawford in the 1840s. The suburb stayed isolated until trams arrived in 1907, was a separate borough from 1904 to 1921, and is home to New Zealand's first state house, opened in 1937. The former National Film Unit site is now the base of the studios that gave the area the Wellywood nickname.

Can I add an EV charger to my Miramar garage?
